Carolynn’s Montessori for Toddlers has been operating at this location in Petaluma since October 2001.
We have 12 children per day, and employ traditional Montessori techniques and positive discipline theories. Our program is nature based. In addition to our own animals (dog, cat, house chicken, chickens in coop, parakeet and fish) we learn a lot about caring for animals and gardening. We visit the garden daily and enjoy many gifts from the garden. With the exception of yogurt, we are vegan. Our learning style is hands-on. The materials are designed for self correction, and encourage independence. We keep strong routines which foster comfort and security; and strive for a tidy classroom, which inspires the children to replicate order (in their classroom and hopefully in their lives). During the pandemic, we have altered our program a great deal, and I can discuss this with you.
